The self-assured Swedish girl Fredrika has just moved to Trieste, the Italian coastal town, and ends up at a technical secondary school in a class full of boys. Gradually, she forms a friendship with an inseparable trio: the fascinating and modest Antero, the extroverted Casanova Pasini, and the kind and protective Mitis.
