Workshop Sound as Resource
How can we approach each listening and sound recording as a starting point for new work (moving images)? How can we intentionally listen to the world around us and catalog the sounds that speak to us? Beside our own professional or phone recordings, sound effects libraries, public archives, private collections, music, Zoom sessions, YouTube, or TV broadcasts will provide access to a variety of sound materials that we can carefully sift through and may build with. In this workshop, we will look at the work of several artists who use different sound elements (as well as silence) to imagine work and transform sound into a tangible experience.
