De Europese festivals komen elk jaar samen om de European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA) te organiseren: een selectie van de allerbeste Europese kortfilms van het afgelopen jaar, bekroond met een nationale publieksprijs in de partnerfestivals, die vervolgens op tournee gaan om de titel van favoriete kortfilm van het Europese publiek te winnen.

The emblematic European festivals come together every year to organize the European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA): a selection of the very best European short films of last year, awarded with a national audience award in the Festival partners, and going on a tour to win the title of European audiences’ favorite short film.

Zijn de gewelddadige bewegingen van de handen van de schilder terug te zien in de penseelstreken van zijn schilderijen? Zou kruissteek een alfabet kunnen zijn? Between Delicate and Violent verbeeldt het blootleggen van traumatische herinneringen die niet in familiealbums zijn opgenomen.

Can we see the violence of the painter’s hands in the brush strokes of his paintings? Could cross-stitch be an alphabet? “Between Delicate and Violent” imagines unearthing traumatic memories that have not been included in family albums.

De supermarkt nadert de sluitingstijd en de laatste klanten staan in de rij te wachten bij de visafdeling. Het zenuwslopende wachten biedt gelegenheid voor existentiële overpeinzingen en een liedje.

The supermarket is nearing its closing time, and the last customers are queuing for their turn at the fish counter. The agonizing wait offers a chance for existential reflection and a little song.

Angine, een ongelukkige vrouw, gaat dwangmatig winkelen in een warenhuis. Daar raakt ze gefascineerd door een onschuldige verkoopster. Ondanks het verbod op zoenen raken de twee hecht met elkaar, wat de argwaan wekt van een jaloerse collega.

Angine, an unhappy woman, shops compulsively in a department store. There, she becomes fascinated by an ingenuous salesgirl. Despite the prohibition of kissing, the two become close, raising the suspicions of a jealous colleague.
