Intimate family drama directed by Joachim Trier (The Worst Person in the World), about a succesful filmmaker trying to repair his relationship with his daughter.
After years with no contact, director Gustav (Stellan Skarsgard) asks his daughter Nora (Renate Reinsve) if she wants to star in his upcoming movie, with a role written especially for her. Nora politely declines his offer and a few weeks later, the role goes to Hollywood star Rachel Kemp (Elle Fanning). Production begins in their childhood home and, with their father now in close proximity, Nora and her sister Agnes must figure out what kind of relationship they want to have with him.
