A mosaic narrative about the Arab uprising against British colonialism and the Zionist settlements in Palestine in 1936. Among others, you follow a female journalist writing under a man’s name, a villager who becomes involved in the resistance, and several British officials.

After Annemarie Jacir’s historical epic was greeted with a fifteen-minute standing ovation at the Toronto Film Festival, the film went on to become one of the audience favourites at its Dutch premiere at the IFFR.
