Sam de Jong (Met Mes) ventures into a punky and energetic film adaptation of Tommy Wieringa’s bestseller. After a bizarre accident leaves Fransje Hermans confined to a wheelchair, he seems doomed to spend his days in the sleepy village of Lomark. But then Joe Speedboot arrives.

Fransje can no longer move or speak as a result of his accident, and with only one functioning arm, his life seems hopeless. This changes when he forms an unlikely friendship with the charismatic and reckless newcomer Joe.
