The second and final film of Antonin Baudry’s epic De Gaulle diptych follows General De Gaulle in his struggle for freedom and sovereignty for France.

Following on from Résistance, the story of Charles de Gaulle continues in Liberté, the second and final film of the epic two-part series directed by Antonin Baudry. Featuring an impressive cast of major French and English stars, including: Simon Abkarian (Casino Royale), Anamaria Vartolomei (Le Comte de Monte-Cristo), Niels Schneider (Diamant noir), Mathieu Kassovitz (La Haine), Thierry Lhermitte (Le Dîner de cons), Félix Kysyl (Miséricorde) and Simon Russell Beale (House of the Dragon, The Death of Stalin).

June 1940. France surrenders to the German army and signs the armistice. Amidst the chaos, one man refuses to accept the situation: General de Gaulle. As a newly designated enemy of the state, he flees – without the support of an army or any hope – to London to pick up the pieces of his fallen homeland. De Gaulle holds one unshakeable belief: a new, free France and a Europe that will not lay down its arms against Nazi Germany.
