Special screening by our Student Film Club: Beyond the Screen, which organizes a themed movie night once a month, especially for students. Tickets €8,50, one drink included.

For our first screening of 2026, we were looking for a movie that dealt with a main-character undergoing change and/or a transformation, something that resembled that familiar feeling of a new year’s resolution. And what better movie to encapsulate this feeling, than “Into the Wild”, by Sean Penn.

Based on the life of Christopher McCandless, or his pseudonym “Alexander Supertramp”, the film follows the true story of a post-graduate turning his back on modern society and wandering into the wilderness of Alaska. With minimal supplies and maximum conviction, the American, played by Emile Hirsch, journeys across North America, turning into a cautionary tale for some, and a symbol of hope for others.
