In close consultation with the schools, Focus offers a diverse selection of school performances (with or without introductions) and film lessons for all secondary school students.
Focus Filmtheater offers a diverse selection of school screenings and film lessons for all secondary school students. Are you a teacher or education professional looking for a film to use as part of your civics class, something that fits within a thematic curriculum, or a title that aligns with a specific school subject? Or would you like to take your students on a field trip to the movie theater? In consultation with schools, we offer a selection of appropriate films. Interested? In addition to film screenings, Focus offers the opportunity to see and experience the educational programs of various Dutch film festivals. We collaborate with IDFA, IFFR, NFF, Cinekid, Movies that Matter, Go Short, and Kaboom.

The standard educational rate for school screenings (a film screening with a short introduction, if applicable) is 6 euros per student. Teachers and chaperones receive free admission. Customized film lessons and screenings for groups of fewer than 30 students are subject to adjusted rates.
These are our house rules for school screenings:
- Cancellations made up to ten days before the screening date are free of charge; after that, 50 percent of the cost will be charged, and in the event of a no-show, 100 percent will be charged.
- No food or drink is allowed in the auditorium. The auditorium must be left clean; if, unexpectedly, this is not the case, Focus will charge a €35,- cleaning fee.
- The school is responsible for the students’ behavior (and any consequences of that behavior).
- The school performance may take place at the same time as public performances—please keep this in mind!
- The school is responsible for selecting the film.
- Students must turn in their phones before the screening; we have collection bins for this purpose that can be stored in a safe!
- The auditorium is available 15 minutes before the start of the show. Schools should arrive on time so that the show can begin at the agreed-upon time.
