House Rules

You are kindly requested to observe the following house rules at Focus Filmtheater Arnhem.

Ticket: As a moviegoer, you must have a valid ticket that you can show to Focus staff upon request. If you are eligible for a discount, you must be able to show the corresponding discount card to the staff at the desk.

Reservations: Reserved tickets must be picked up at the cinema desk no later than 30 minutes before the start of the screening. After that, they may be forfeited if the theater is crowded.

Be on Time: No audience members will be admitted five minutes after the scheduled start time.

Staff Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the staff. This is particularly important in the event of an emergency, for example.

Disruptive Behavior: If you cause a disturbance for any reason, Focus staff are authorized to address the issue with you and, if necessary, have you removed from the premises. In extreme cases, we may be forced to call the police.

Age Restrictions: Because Focus is required to enforce the legal age restrictions assigned to films by the Kijkwijzer Foundation, members of the public may be asked to show identification. Children under 12 years of age may attend a movie screening only when accompanied by an adult. Please note: For movies rated Kijkwijzer 16 and 18, individuals younger than the specified age are legally prohibited from entering the theater to see these films, even when accompanied by an adult.

Food and Beverages: Consuming food or beverages you have brought with you is not permitted. You are welcome to bring your drink from Focus Eten en Drinken into the theater, but please take any glasses or bottles with you when leaving the theater and place them on the designated carts.

Alcohol: The purchase and consumption of alcohol by anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited by law. If there is any doubt, you must be able to provide valid identification. Bar staff are authorized to limit the number of drinks served.

Smoking: Smoking (tobacco, hash, weed, e-cigarettes) or any other activities that produce smoke are not permitted anywhere in this building.

Cell Phones: Please turn off the sound on your phone before the movie starts so that others are not disturbed if your phone rings. We also ask that you refrain from using your cell phone during the movie. The glowing screen is very distracting to others in the theater.

Recording Equipment: It is prohibited to use video and/or audio recording equipment in the auditorium. Anyone who makes recordings is infringing on copyright.

Property: It goes without saying that you must not take any Focus property with you. In addition, please do not use the armrests of the seats as footrests. This damages the material and obstructs the view of the film for people sitting behind you. If any items in or around the building are damaged, you are liable for the repair and replacement costs.

Damage: Focus Filmtheater Arnhem accepts no liability for personal injury and/or theft, loss, misplacement, or damage to visitors’ personal belongings occurring during and/or as a result of a visit to Focus Filmtheater Arnhem.

Pets: Pets are not allowed in the theater. They are permitted in the food and beverage area, provided they are kept on a leash. Officially registered service dogs are, of course, permitted.

Ticket Refunds: Focus does not issue refunds. Refunds are only issued if a screening is canceled. However, you may cancel your ticket up to 48 hours before the screening. You’ll find a link for this in the email containing your e-tickets. After cancellation, you’ll receive a credit code that can be used for another screening at Focus.
