About Focus
A boundless love of film, always a fantastic programme, five cinemas, a cozy café, sunny terrace, and open-air screenings on the rooftop—that’s Focus Filmtheater Arnhem. The cinema is located at the Audrey Hepburnplein in the heart of the city and offers a varied selection of current films, classics, documentaries, and special events.
Under the same roof as the cinema, you’ll find the spacious café-restaurant Focus Eten en Drinken, which has grown over the past few years into a cultural gathering place for a diverse audience. Stop by for coffee, lunch, dinner, or drinks, or combine your visit with a movie for a full evening or afternoon out. The excellent Wi-Fi and pleasant atmosphere also make Focus a great place to work or hold meetings during the day. During the warmer months, the sunny terrace along the Jansbeek is a great place to relax!
An Impression
Eye-catcher
A real eye-catcher is the staircase, above which—through the glass roof—the tower of the Eusebius Church is visible. From dusk onward, it’s also beautifully illuminated. It’s no wonder this is one of Arnhem’s most photographed spots!
History
Focus Filmtheater Arnhem began in 1973 as a small art house cinema under the roof of Willemeen, with fewer than ten volunteers. In 1978, it moved to the Korenmarkt, where, over the course of forty years, it expanded from a few screenings per week in a single cinema to multiple screenings per day across three cinemas.
Focus continued to grow, and in June 2018, a long-held dream came true: the new Focus Filmtheater opened on Audrey Hepburnplein (formerly Kerkplein) in the heart of the city.

Partnerships
Focus Filmtheater is a member of the Dutch Film Theater Council (NFO) and the Dutch Association of Movie Theaters and Film Theaters (NVBF).
Europa Cinemas
Focus Filmtheater is a member of and receives support from Europa Cinemas, a pan-European network of movie theaters and film theaters that devote a significant portion of their programming to European films. The network was founded in 1992 on the initiative of thirty cinemas and has been supported from the outset by the European Commission and the French CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée). The organization is headquartered in Paris.
