New Focus programming team

Focus Filmtheater has a new programming team! With the recent departure of former head of programming Thomas Fransman to film distributor Lumière, there was a shift within the department.

Since October 1, the team has been led by Kim van der Werff, who previously worked at Focus as a programmer for specials and education. Alongside her, Rob van den Bergh – former head of programming at Filmtheater Gigant in Apeldoorn – has joined as premiere programmer. In the near future, the department will be further expanded with a programmer for Focus Jong, the collective name for Focus Junior, Focus Mini, and school education.

With the renewed programming team, Focus is ready to continue offering a reliably good film selection and to design exciting new programs for a wide audience.

Over de programmeurs

Rob van den Bergh worked as the head programmer at the Gigant in Apeldoorn until October 1. After completing a master’s in Media & Culture at UVA, he worked for a while as a programmer for Film & Interactive at the InScience Film Festival in Nijmegen.

Kim van der Werff was responsible for marketing at Focus Film Theater for a long time before moving to special programming and education in 2018. After an unfinished study at ArtEZ (fine arts), she completed a master’s in Film & Television Studies at UVA and a teacher training in history at HAN.
