A mosaic story about the Arab uprising against British colonialism and the Zionist settlements in Palestine in 1936. You follow, among others, a female journalist who writes under a male name, a villager who gets involved in the resistance, and a few British officials.
After Annemarie Jacir’s historical epic was already met with a fifteen-minute standing ovation at the Toronto festival, the film became one of the audience favorites during its Dutch premiere at IFFR.
