Open-Air Cinema: All of Us Strangers
A heartbreakingly beautiful love story by Andrew Haigh (45 Years, Weekend), in which the lonely writer Adam (a masterful Andrew Scott) begins a relationship with his mysterious neighbor Harry (the talented Paul Mescal), while at the same time reconnecting with his deceased parents.
Adam (Andrew Scott) lives in London in an almost empty high-rise apartment building. One evening, he happens to meet his mysterious neighbor Harry (Paul Mescal), who breaks the monotony of his daily routine. As a relationship develops between them, Adam finds himself thinking a lot about the past. He visits the house where his parents (Claire Foy and Jamie Bell) lived. There, it seems as if nothing has changed since the day they died, 30 years ago. Based on the novel *Strangers* (1987) by Taichi Yamada.
Theme: Love Is in the Open Air
Even in times of great misfortune, there is always love. It has been beautifully celebrated on the silver screen countless times. This might be a bit of a spoiler, but in this selection, things don’t always end happily ever after—and it is precisely that great, unfulfilled longing that tears the heart apart.
