Jim Queen
Marco N'Guyen, Nicolas Athane | 80 minutes | language: French | subtitles: English
Hilarious animated movie about a gay influencer from Paris whose world falls apart when he catches ‘heterosis,’ a disease that turns gay people into straight people.
At the heart of the Parisian gay scene, Jim is all-powerful: the ultimate Gym Queen, influencer, and object of everyone’s desire. But when he is hit by Heterosis (a bizarre virus that turns gay men straight), his reign comes to an abrupt end. Unfollowed, abandoned, and stripped of his status, Jim is left with only one last loyal follower: Lucien, a devoted, frail twink with a domineering mother. Together, they dive into an absurd, hilarious quest for a mysterious cure—not just to save Jim, but also to prevent the extinction of the gay community.
Jim Queen is a hilarious and wild ride through identity, image, and the ridiculous things we do to stay seen—and queer.
