Go short 2026: Gelders Kort 2 + Awards Show
This program brings together the best short films by filmmakers from Gelderland on the big screen. Following the screenings, there will be a festive awards show where the Gelderland films that will be honored with a Golden Deer will be announced.
At the Gelders Kort Competition, you’ll discover a surprising selection of short films that showcase the versatility of the regional film scene. The selected filmmakers compete for the prestigious Golden Deer, a professional jury award that puts new filmmakers in the spotlight.
For the audience, this is the perfect opportunity to get to know the homegrown voices shaping the future of Dutch film.

Maarten (34), a caring, funny man with an intellectual disability, experiences sexual feelings for the first time in his life. As he tries to figure out what these feelings mean, he encounters an environment that doesn’t seem to take him seriously and punishes him for his human needs. Will Maarten be able to find acceptance for his desire for intimate contact?

Salome Erni, Netherlands, 11 min
How do you look at photographs while witnessing a genocide? An envelope containing 59 found photographic negatives—taken in Palestine in the 1920s by the Dutch photographer Frank Scholten—bears the inscription “Interesting Things.” This video essay begins with the artist’s personal connection and expands into the politics of the gaze. We don’t just look: everyone has a connection to Palestine.
The Void
Linde Wagemakers, Netherlands, 8 min
In this intimate portrait of loneliness, Lunadoor wanders through deserted spaces, consumed by an inner emptiness. In a desperate attempt to fill that void, she comes to realize that the silence she seeks cannot be found outside, but lives within herself. This short contemporary dance film is a physically expressive autobiographical portrait, in which loneliness slowly gives way to connection.
kus kus beng beng (kiss kiss bang bang)
Ollie Launspach, Netherlands, 28 min
In this cinematic portrait of love—composed of home videos, photographs, diaries, audio recordings, and interviews—director Ollie Launspach explores the impact of his transition on his girlfriend Sterre. As he tries to fathom her emotional world, the chaos in his own mind slowly comes into focus.
Oh My
Linde Wagemakers, Netherlands, 4 min
What begins as a playful disruption by dancers bringing radical creativity to the streets grows into a contagious, collective movement. Bodies find each other, challenge one another, and empower one another in a playful interplay between chaos and connection, giving rise to a living protest. “Oh My” is an ode to freedom, presence, and the power of coming together.
