An enchanting performance in which Clara receives a special nutcracker from the magician Drosselmeyer and finds herself in a magical world full of living toys.
During a festive Christmas party, young Clara meets the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer, who gives her a nutcracker doll as a gift. Once the guests have left and the house is asleep, Clara sneaks downstairs in search of the doll. But instead, she finds Drosselmeyer, who takes her on a journey to an enchanting world: fairy-tale landscapes filled with swirling snow and sparkling candies, where toys come to life and the magic continues.
Directed by Peter Wright, this production—a true favorite for the whole family—shines to the enchanting sounds of Tchaikovsky’s orchestral music, alongside the splendor of Julia Trevelyan Oman’s historically inspired designs.
