After a twenty-year absence, Willie McKay returns to his hometown in the Appalachians to take possession of his childhood home. During the trip, he falls in love with a young woman. The only problem is that her family has vowed to kill every member of his family because of a long-standing feud that led to him being sent away as a baby. Among the many comical moments are the train ride that zigzags its way past obstacles, a wild chase through the mountains, and a heart-stopping rescue at a waterfall.
